Covid Vaccination

"Each and every life is important.”

At present, we all are victims of covid-19 either directly or indirectly. We can’t deny the fact that it pushed the world many years back. There is a big challenge of saving present generation as well as future generations. Maintaining social distancing is one of the methods to break the spread of this virus. But to protect oneself it is highly necessary to get vaccinated.

Till date approximately 3.36 Cr Covid cases are identified across India, among which corona virus has taken approximately 4.47 L lives.

Indian government is making every possible effort to vaccinate the people of India as soon as possible to save their lives.

There are multiple questions that need to be answered.

•What is Vaccination?

Vaccination is a simple, safe, and effective way of protecting you against harmful diseases, before you come into contact with them. It uses your body’s natural defenses to build resistance to specific infections and makes your immune system stronger.

Vaccines train your immune system to create antibodies, just as it does when it’s exposed to a disease. However, because vaccines contain only killed or weakened forms of germs like viruses or bacteria, they do not cause the disease or put you at risk of its complications.

•When should one get vaccinated?

If we delay vaccination, we are at risk of getting seriously sick. If we wait until we think we may be exposed to a serious illness – like during a disease outbreak – there may not be enough time for the vaccine to work and to receive all the recommended doses.

•Why should one get vaccinated?

Without vaccines, we are at risk of serious illness and disability from diseases like measles, meningitis, pneumonia, tetanus and polio. Many of these diseases can be life-threatening. WHO estimates that childhood vaccines alone save over 4 million lives every year.

•Are vaccines safe?

Like any medicine, vaccines can cause mild side effects, such as a low-grade fever, or pain or redness at the injection site. Mild reactions go away within a few days on their own. Severe or long-lasting side effects are extremely rare. Vaccines are continually monitored for safety, to detect rare adverse events.
